lazy busy person, because a lot is going through during the day, he or she sometimes ends up just washing his or her face before heading to sleep. But little do we know, washing alone is not enough. We need to thoroughly remove any dirt buildup acquired throughout the day. We also need to nourish our skin in order to help repair itself overnight. That is why I have to extend my patience in dealing with my face at night.
For some of us, turmeric is just another spice or condiment added to give curry its flavor. For me, it is a must-have skin food. Existing for ages, turmeric has been noted to have a lot of benefits and it is used in ancient medicine. Known for its anti-inflammatory property, turmeric is being used for treating arthritis, heartburn and pain. Continue reading

Koreans are known for their pursuit of beauty. They have developed a lot of products to cater different aesthetic needs. Beauty shops are like mushrooms in South Korea. They are found everywhere.

One of the most important part of the day is cleansing your face. Not only it gets rid of excess oil, it also removes dead skin cells, which can lead to clogged pores and blemishes.
I am going to review an organic facial cleanser from the Peter Lamas line called Detoxifying Citrus C Cleanser. I was able to use a sample size 1 fl. oz./ 3 ml.
What it’s supposed to do:
- Cleanses your face deeply
- Provides antioxidant protection
How to use:
- Massage the product on damp skin. Use warm water to rinse. This is a body wash alternative too.
Natural ingredients found:
- Green Tea
- Salix Alba
- Aloe vera
- Wheat germ oil
- Orange oil
It also contains vitamin C, E and B5.
Price: 4 fl.oz./ 118 ml costs $24
- Certified organic
Since I got to use a sample size, it only lasted me for 1 month. I can feel that it really cleanses your face and at the same time, keeping (it moisturized. It also removes stubborn makeup effectively. Despite that it has vitamin C (which is an acid), it was not harsh on the skin.
The only thing I didn’t like about this product is the smell. Don’t worry it’s not that strong, I am just a fan of non-scented products.
- Gentle on skin
- Contains antioxidants
- Doesn’t dry out your skin
- Removes stubborn makeup
- Expensive for a cleanser
- I don’t like the smell (subjective).
One of the sensitive parts of our body are the lips. The skin is thinner compared to that of the other parts. They also have a high tendency to dry out and chap. Having said that, it is very important to pay more attention in taking care of them.
Contained in a small tube (0.07oz), I am using this lip balm for 6 months now and it still has not ran out.
This lip balm is cruelty-free. It’s primarily made of beeswax which protects your lips from harmful elements while at the same time, nourishing and moisturizing them. Since it also has oats and honey, it provides the skin with calming effects which is suitable for those with very sensitive lips. If you aren’t aware yet, honey has antibacterial and healing properties which makes it an excellent ingredient for healing cracked lips. It doesn’t only protect, it also facilitates faster renewal of the skin.
Currently, it is valued $5.95 in the market and I think it’s a fair price for the effects that I am currently experiencing from using it. As I have mentioned, I have been using this for 6 months and it’s still has a long way to go.
Directions: Open cap and apply product unto lips daily or as needed. Don’t forget to recap after!
Natural Ingredients: olive oil, beeswax, shea butter, cocoa, hemp oil, almond oil, jojoba oil, grape seed oil
- Certified organic ingredients
- Doesn’t leave lips shiny
- fair price
- I don’t like the organic smell or taste (subjective)
- Tube is small and can get lost with the other items in my bag
- You’ll have a hard time twisting the product down if you have totally twisted it up
Getting the right type of moisturizer for your skin is more difficult than it sounds. Especially for me, since I have sensitive skin. You need to make sure that the products that touch your skin are hypoallergenic and won’t make you breakout.
Well, I found a good moisturizer that doesn’t only do its job quite well (to make your skin soft and hydrated) but it also boasts with all natural products. I present to you, Be Good. Good Day. Day Moisturizer
I got my hands on their deluxe sample size (0.5oz/15g). This size costs more or less $13.99 in the market. The packet also is resealable which makes it convenient when you go on trips or just keep it handy in your purse. You might think that it won’t be enough to last you, but you will be surprised how a little amount goes a very long way. The deluxe sample lasts for about a month or 2 depending on how often you use it. In my case, I am using it once a day, before I leave home for work.
Directions: You need to clean your face first and apply serum. Then apply the moisturizer. The packaging also said that you need to exercise, drink lots of water, eat healthy meal and get enough sleep. I find them humorous when they included hug and smile in the instructions.
Natural Ingredients: natural cucumber, aloe, vitamins B, C & E, maqui berry, licorice root, ginkgo biloba leaf, grape seed, hickory bark
I can attest that while using this moisturizer, my skin feels softer and plumper. It doesn’t leave and greasy nor heavy feeling on my face. It also blends well with my BB cream. This is a great daytime moisturizer. I just don’t like how it smells. Well, it’s organic so that’s how it suppose to smell.
- Made of natural products
- Biodegradable formula
- Cruelty Free (not tested on animals)
- No greasy feeling
- Blends well with makeup
- hydrates skin
- has anti-aging ingredients
- I don’t like the smell (subjective)
- Quite expensive
