When I go to concerts, I always enjoy listening to the beat of the drums. Even though the drummer is only stationary while on the stage, you can’t help but notice how they hit the drums.
In a drum set, most of the time, you hear the sound of the snare drum. If you’re not familiar with the appearance of snare drums, check it out at MusiciansFriend.com. It is usually found at the center of the set, very close to the drummer. I wonder what they usually do to take care of the snare drums. I think that’s the thing the receives most of the beating. If you happen to know, please let me know by commenting below.
I have absolutely no idea about drums and drumming. But you make me want to look out now when I go to a concert again!

No idea as well re drums but just like you, I like seeing someone use the drums. I am easily fascinated by his moves and how he could make a nice sound out of just beating those drums. And I find most drummers gwapo. Ehehe.

I once tied to learn how to play the drums. It’s definitely a complex instrument. No wonder drummers are so popular! They may be positioned in the back but they’re definitely a highlight in any show.

This reminded me of my banda days. Lol. I used to sing in a band before and the beat of the drums always make me feel nostalgic. Too bad I lost all my photos during those banda days.

Whenever I read about drumming, I am always reminded of MC Hammer. In Delhi, we have this beautiful group which drums every week. The experience is therapeutic, to say the least. I have visited just one such session and long to attend more of them. But why are some snare drums called pork pie drums?

I love drummers too! My favourite is Drums Sivamani who is the main drummer for the Oscar winning composer, A R Rahman! If possible, try to find his videos on youtube. I’m sure you’ll love him too!

I am a huge fun of drummer and I just don’t know why. I truly appreciate the sound the drum produce as it makes us dance whenever someone hit the drum. I’m so happy that you write about drum, it’s very rare to read something like this. Thank you so much.

The drums can really be the life of the musical instruments as it can really give the beat and also be loud. It’s also among the harder to maintain among the instruments.

The drums give the beat. They are essential for a band to sound lively. I always like the drum solos during rock concerts.

Before, my friends would go-gaga at either the vocalist or the lead guitar. I, on the other hand, would often get attracted to the drummer. Drummers are just so cool to look at.

My favourite part of going to see bands is watching the drummers! They’re so epic. My favourite drummer to watch is from an Australian band called Something For Kate. He is a machine at shows, it looks like he’s getting a massive work out.

I’m not a music person as I can’t really sing, hence the lack of attention on such details. Hope to read more response from other people over here!

I tried playing drums when i was with my ex boyfie. He’s a drummer of their band and used to play good music using his drum beats. Drum beats really uplifts every music sound. But so hard to play and need more energy just to play one song. I tried “Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now!” And I’m satisfied that i already did it try.

Cool! I haven’t tried it yet, but good for you! Did you get a chance to record it? I’d love to see how you did.

I love the light, dashing sound of the snare drum. According to my husband (a drummer), it’s like the “lead guitarist” of the drum set. As a musician myself, I take that to mean that the snare drum gives the drums its character and stand-out appeal. I’ve never been able to learn the drums successfully, but I find it an amazing talent (and lucky that my husband is himself a great drummer!)

This is a good read. My husband is actually a drummer and had been mentioning about snare drums which I had no idea. I was alien to the term and actually anything related to music. It is one world we do not really share. Thank you for sharing this post.
