The next (few) long overdue blog entries would be about my trip to the northern Philippines: the National Capital Region and Ilocos Norte. For now, I’ll share about our stops in Parañaque (NCR).
After checking in at a hotel, the plan was to have dinner in Zark’s Burgers. Due to my late night arrival, we ended up eating at Shawarma Snack Center. The place is located in BF Homes, Parañaque.
The next day, we visited the The Cathedral of St. Andrew.
After the cathedral, we went to eat in a place which is very familiar to him- Nel’s Pastries & Specialties.
That’s it for Parañaque! After this, we went to Intramuros, but that would be in a different blog post. 😉
Have you been in a long distance relationship? What do you do every time you meet? Please let me know by commenting below. 🙂
This city is just near my place and much nearer to my Alma Mater. I miss wandering here. As per my friends’ statements, BF has lots of food tripping restos and eateries that are underrated but should be explored. Who still needs to go to Maginhawa? 🙂

I have never been on a long distance relatinship except, oh yeah, one. I lived in Boracay then, while GF came often to Boracay, and I also go to Manila. So it wasn’t really that bad.
Looks like you had a good time and were able to see some sights, but of course more than the sights, it is being able to spend time together and that is more important.

My now fiance and I have lived together yet been in a long distance relationship for the majority of our 5 year relationship..it never gets easier but when it the right person it only gets better. For us, it was ALL about communication! As amazing as it was to have him come home, it was making sure to keep each other up to date on everything and in each others thoughts frequently while we were apart. My friends thinks its just crazy how much we talk on the phone and text and spend time alone together when he’s home, but thats our love language and it perfect for us!
I think you have inspired me to write a post about his 😉

I was in long distance relationship and it was very nice for me, because we always had a lot to talk, we went to restaurants, theatres, vacations…We are not in relationship any more, the distance was problem as time passed by. She didn’t want to move at my place, and I couldn’t move at her place. We are now friends. I think it was not true love, because some of my friends got married after long distance relationship and they overcome all obstacles. It only matters if you are meant to be.

The north has always been one of my favorite places. Somehow it seems time is a lot slower. The environment is more relaxing, and conversations are deeper. I’ve never thought of being on an LDR though. It’s a test for most couples.

Ahhhh LDR. I was in a LDR for about 3 years too. The difference is we were in two different countries. I was in Canada, he was in the US. Now, we are married 🙂 I am happy to see two people making it work despite distance! It looks like you both had a wonderful time together and I wish you ALL the best. May your relationship continue to thrive! God bless 🙂

I personally have not been exploring around Paranaque. It looks like a very complicated neighborhood the few times we had to go there. Funny how you automatically thought of Game of Thrones when your title had North and Jon.

LDR’s seriously suck because you miss the person so much. I live in LA and my (then) bf was 8 hrs away and I hated it so I can only imagine how hard it is for you with that distance. But regardless, you look like you were so happy when you were finally able to visit Jon and that you got to spend time together. Those short but amazing moments are the best!

That is definitely a long distance! I’m sorry that you get to see each other so infrequently, but I’m glad that you had such a beautiful and meaningful visit. I can’t wait to read more!

I’m curious. How far north does he live? I’m surprised to know that you only meet each every July that means, one month in a year? That’s tough! I don’t if our relationship is considered long distance. My boyfriend lives in Paranaque City as well and is literally living just outside SLEX. Meanwhile, I love close to NLEX and I’m just in Quezon City. Anyway, hope you had fun.

Hi Me-An! Well, I live in Davao, and Jona is in Parañaque. Maybe he’s neighbors with your boyfriend. lol I only have a limited set of leave credits so we only get to spend time together for like 7 days/year. It is really tough!
